Improving California's infrastructure continues to be a major focus across the state. We've been reporting for months the stream of funding that is making its way towards much needed transportation projects. This week California saw a major influx of additional Proposition 1B funding to the tune of $2.2 billion which will be spread across 146 highway, transit and rail projects.
- In Los Angeles, Caltrans reports that money is being spent on high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes on US 101, along with rehabilitation of the I-710, I-5, and SR-60 freeways.
- For the San Diego folks, check out Caltrans' announcement about the double tracking of the Los Angeles-San Diego Rail Corridor, along with some habitat restoration and other projects.
- For our neighbors up north, peruse Caltrans' announcement about the Sunnyvale auxiliary lanes on Route 101, the San Jose carpool lanes on Route 880, the Napa County widening of State Route 12, and the Livermore widening of State Route 84.
- If you're interested in the Central Coast area, take a look at Caltrans' announcement about the specific projects receiving funding.
- If you're in the Stockton area, see Caltrans' announcement about the Calaveras County, San Joaquin County, and Stanislaus County projects.
- You can also see the Caltrans announcements for the Sacramento County and Fresno/Tulare/Visalia areas.
For all you appraisers, right-of-way agents, and eminent domain attorneys, this likely means more work in the coming years. For the public, it means California's infrastructure will continue to improve.
